Covent garden fishmongers

A Massive thank you to W4 residents for your loyalty and continuing support I really do appreciate you all.I have a serious update for you.Billingsgate fish market and most of the fishing ports, boats and markets arround the country have now closed including imported fish, which is disgraceful as there all part of the food chain and incredibly important. In addition to this transportation from the coastal ports has also stopped. I won't let this stop me as I have a few independent fishing boats I can source from.I can guarantee super fresh inshore local English fish but the huge variety I normally stock won't be available for a while. For now I will stay open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 3pm but may have to reduce the days so that I can drive to Cornwall and the South Coast to pick the fish up myself but time will tell. Sorry this is tougher for you, but thank you so much for your efforts.  I’ve  had delicious fish served with a smile in the last couple of weeks. I was actually on here to send a message to all the local food shops who are staying open to say thank you and happened to see this

Thanks for the massive support you have shown me. This week alone me and my wife have made just under 290 home deliveries not bad for a little shop in the terrace. I continue to look forward in keeping w4 fed on prime fresh fish during and after this horrible period of our lives. Stay safe and well.

You are indeed a diamond Gerry and thank you so much for delivering some of your really lovely fish so kindly ordered for me by Loraine, then tying it to the doorknob so that I wouldn’t have to open the door when I’m self isolating. 2 gems in W4 and I know of many more.This crisis is bringing out the best in a lot of people, it’s just that a relatively few mainly young people are choosing to disregard or instinctively stopping to hug friends they happen to meet.Wishing you the very best after all your hard work and consideration when this crisis is eventually over.
