RIP Andy Pease

I have just heard from my brother–in-law, that Andy Pease has died. He was taken into hospital on Jan 10th after collapsing, and was in an induced coma for 66 days, after which he succumbed to pneumonia.

I am so sad to hear this.  He was frequently the voice of reason and a really nice person.I think when his kidney transplant failed he seemed to be struggling so this may be a blessed relief for him.  He was always concerned for his dog/s so I hope his ‘new’ dog has been taken care of.Who’s going to beast Hounslow Council now for some of their bizarre procedures?

He never did me any favours, least of all when he reported me to the ‘Anti Terrorist Command and Special Branch at Scotland Yard’ for a post I made on here. Nonetheless, he followed his beliefs and showed great courage all through his illness and the frustrations it clearly brought. RIP Andy.

Andy's wife, Chrissie, will be posting shortly. Andy is being cremated next Thursday to the music of his favourite band, Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb" and a couple of Genesis tracks. There will be a Memorial Service but not until Coronavirus is past.Andy was a great person but as Geogina has said he's now with Alfie his canine soulmate. Bless you Andy, you were an amazing friend. RIP

I have been greatly missing his straight talking and humour on the forum and wondering about his health.He had suffered for so long  but still kept posting in a matter of fact way with his special humour.At peace now with his beloved Alfie. For many years Andy came to mind when I travelled north on the M25 to visit my mother. There used to be a huge graffito painted on a railway vaiduct asking us to "Give Peas a chance". I think we did and we all benefitted as a result.

So very sorry to hear this news. I hope his wife can take some comfort from all the good wishes here. I never met him but was grateful for his advice for a relative with diabetes. His companionship with Alfie and his understanding of other's suffering was admirable. He's a great loss.

I had wondered whether Andy was ill as I hadn't seen any posts from him for several months. He always offered common-sense advice based on experience and knowledge, especially about policing, and I will miss seeing his name on the forum. I didn't meet him but felt his presence as a Chiswick resident - authoritative and factual, wanting to help. My condolences to his wife and family.

A while back I spotted a bloke in Turnham Green Terrace wearing a jacket with Harley Davidson emblazoned on the back.That must be Andy I thought not that I knew him as a person but instinctively I thought it must be him.This only goes to show how his towering personality came across and made an impression on me.A sad loss to this community, his family and friends.

How terribly sad.  A sound and solid contributor who will be sadly missed.  Condolences to his family.  As a result of the current situation it may be that his memorial service may be a while away.  If we knew the time of his funeral it might be a kind gesture to raise a glass to his memory, inabsentia as it were, at that time.  RIP.
