Traffic wardens

Are traffic wardens still operational in Chiswick

I assume you mean Civil Enforcement Officers who issue PCNs for parking contraventions.  Yes, they were operating this afternoon, at any rate in the Hounslow part of Chiswick.(Traffic wardens are, or were, police officials that did that job years ago.)

As you know Richard....in the old days  of this Forum you would have received a welcome "thank you " in response to your informative reply.

Stay safe Jim. Good to see you posting.

'Tis the way of the world for some Jim.
Lovely to see you posting BTW. I have noticed, since the 'lockdown' how much more 'civil' many are with cheery waves. Hopefully this will extend to the supermarket 'locusts' and keyboard warriors in due time.

They were operational yesterday in the carp park outside Geoge IV as I saw a car with a parking ticket on it.

“Carp park” now there is an idea to repurpose the space to fit with the times

Paul Campbell ● 2415d

Not sure that even a dose of Corvid19 would make me want to eat carp.

Some Council’s are doing the responsible thing and suspending parking enforcement during this crisis but not good old Hounslow, always keen to maximise their money making activities clearly unworried about the safety of their employees and residents!

Fiona Campbell ● 2415d

Don't you realise that this is essential work? If they don't keep collecting the money from fines they may not be able to afford the full amount of next year's pay rises at the council.

Ealing Council are still operating, both car parks and residential.
