Supermarket Delivery Problems

Does anyone know how to get a supermarket delivery slot? I can't get one for love or money. I want to self-isolate but how am I meant to do so if I have to leave my home to do grocery shopping?

As far as im aware,only if your disabled,aged over 70 will you will be given priority for online delivery slots with most if you contact them. Otherwise i think its a case of possibly getting someone to shop for you and if need be leave it on your doorstep if thats an issue. To many people have booked slots even if its weeks away for that delivery and two many isolating now to change any rules.

I too am having problems.  Can't get through to either Waitrose or Ocado by phone and there's a 2 hour delay on line at Ocado for anyone to answer queries!  Currently friends are shopping for me but they are over 70 so having to stay home now.

Sainsburys say ring this number to let us know that you are over 70, but cannot get through. I thought that with a Nectar card they knew everything about us, but apparently not our age.

Jennifer Both Mackens butchers and Covent Garden fishmongers will deliver to you. Other than those I can't offer any other options.

I came home from abroad 8 days ago and constantly tried Waitrose, Ocado Zoom, Ocado, Tesco, Sainsburys for online delivery - not one of them ever had a slot free and Waitrose was booked up three weeks ahead. However, Grove Park Deli are supplying prepared food and said they would also pop up to Budgens for me to get bits and pieces like milk. They offered to do this for me even though I was out of their area.  I'll remember that when all this is over.  Their website says 'Delivery to the Grove Park area between 2&3pm DAILY Free Delivery for Orders over £10 or for the vulnerable or self-isolating' 0208 995 8219

Friends on the Isle of Wight managed to get an online delivery this week from Tesco, but have been told it will be four weeks before they can get another. My youngest son who should have started a new job this week, but the start date has been pushed back - thought he'd try Tesco and Ocado for a temp. delivery driver job, he hasn't heard back from either. They may of course have been overwhelmed with people like him, we shall see.

Well, my son has just heard from Tesco - a DBS check first then await to hear when he will start, good stuff.
