Things to do with kids during lockdown.

As a lot of people seem  to have an inordinate supply of loo roll. The challenge for the months ahead is to find ingenious ways of using the cardboard centres. Loads of ideas needless to say on YouTube and Google and Pinterest. Hours of endless fun. Look forward to seeing the results.

I was sent footage this morning of my great niece (aged 4) putting on a puppet show. I said that it was the best theatre I'd seen in over a week, which is true.

Puppet shows are a great idea.  Before TV etc we used to spend ages writing plays and performing them and dressing up.  Aged about 8 I remember the whole class reciting and illustrating the poem The Inchcape Rock which was rolled from one roll of paper from one side of a cardboard box screen to the other. There are lots of fabulous ideas on Pinterest if you get stuck.  I long for a return to time to do that sort of thing!

Surely it's time to reintroduce the concept of children working up chimneys or down mines or in mills?

Lots of crafts you can do with egg boxes too.  The trouble is nowadays many people throw everything out immediately they can and don't have anything they can use.  Making your own jigsaw puzzle can be fun too.Learning British Sign Language
