It says a lot about a Nation

In the US people rush out and buy guns.Here in the UK, we rush out and buy toilet roll.I know which country I would rather be in.

From what ive seen on social media those in the US are doing exactly the same as us and others. Gells,wipes,pasta,tinned foods and yes,bog rolls. Lots of them

The media is telling us not to panic buy and most of us respect that. I’ve just had a very concerned call from friends who were out shopping today telling me that the shelves and freezers are empty of everything. Only fresh food available.

People must be bulk buying, but why?  I need some plain flour but neither Sainsbury’s nor Waitrose, nor As Nature Intended nor M and S had any.  What’s going on?  Has everybody decided to bake their own bread or what?

Ive seen some cases on social media where your general cash and carry type place does not have stocks of in demand goods and people who run what you call corner shops are buying from your large supermarkets in bulk and re selling at inflated prices.I however dont know if this is true but some will be doing that just like cigarettes under the counter. Not everyone is straight when money is to be made

Out of date?  So why are so many people ignorant of the Best Before labelling meaning?    Or is it that some people have much too much money while others don't have enough?

We don't even buy sugar every year.  There was a sugar shortage years ago and so we cut down and gave up sugar on our cereal and in our tea.  We now look for fruit in juice rather than syrup and cereals with no sugar.  It's amazing how little you want once you've got used to less.  We also inherited a lot and still haven't touched it.
