A month behind..

In Italy they are not ventilating people over 60 with Covid 19.  With that in mind are we going to be in the same position in a month’s time?

We are reckoned to be about 2 weeks behind Italy, not a month.

See this link - official stats from Public Health England:https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/f94c3c90da5b4e9f9a0b19484dd4bb14Seems that there is a big uptick in infections in the last 2 days, so I would expect lots of restictions to be put in place soon.

Monday afternoon. To much happening now for nothing to happen. Just cant see monday passing now with nothing said and even then a statement with no big changes.

It is also being reported that the UK will have to wait longer and pay more to acquire any vaccine as we have left the EU. But we knew what we were voting for.

Stewart Jones ● 2426d

And exactly where was this reported or is this something else you have just made up this morning?

Yep! When we voted Brexit four years ago we knew that a pandemic was on the horizon? Sigh!

This story was hearsay first put out by ITN and since repeated. In the worse of the crisis one hospital in Rome had, sensibly, used a number of factors to triage treatment.  Age was just one of them.  it is not a national policy. It is the careless posting of "fake news" like this helps fuels the panic.

Something else I made up this morning?  Sorry if facts  don’t fit in with the things that you’ve made up in your head.

Wasn't exactly filled with confidence by Matt Hancock on with Andrew Marr this morning. No explanation of where all these doctors and nurses are suddenly coming from or for that matter all these police officers. To be honest a lot of the answers to some questions are of the variety of 'how long is a piece of string' and I think Mr. Hancock should have 'fessed up and instead of blustering admitted as much. I doubt anyone has a precise idea of where we are going with this - and that's perfectly understandable. But then hey ho! This is a government prepared to put Failing Grayling in charge of the country's intelligence and security - a contradiction in terms where he's concerned, if ever there was one!

Well, that’s not what I’m saying but we voted to become a third country and this is one of the potential consequences.

Stewart Jones ● 2426d

"we voted to become a third country and this is one of the potential consequences."    You'd have to include Italy. Spain & France, also Germany, soon to have a large death toll, in this "3rd country" club.  Switzerland is also suffering - seems we're all in it together - it's a World-wide pandemic (think you might have to exclude Russia, that country has escaped the virus, strange that!)

Jennifer Selig ● 2425d

According to the stats Russia has 63 cases but no deaths yet.

Viv Griffiths ● 2425d

Exactly, Jennifer.

Claire Moran ● 2425d

Of course, the Russian media is so open and truthful.
