What’s the truth!

On my way home after an extended lunch reading the evening standard, and unlike what is being reported, not one single sight of a face mask unlike the ES photos of faced masked people. Is this a case of the press misrepresenting the truth or just building people into a frenzy?

Two people on the 483 bus this afternoon with face masks and frantically applying hand gel. They were foreigners and, therefore, feeble.

I am looking at the positives, the restaurant did not ask us to vacate our table at 2,30 as was told at booking it 3 weeks ago thus the extended lunch, honestly Mrs S-J! thought I would pop into Tesco on the high road and shelves look well stocked and bought a pack of Corona beers. so corona virus, cheers to you and you won't scare me. not sure if Mrs S-J will be as forgiving, night all

sorry I did not mean to hijack the lack of information thread, I will blame it on the red wine,

Before the coronavirus kicked off it was not unusual to spot the occassional person masked up. Commonly Japanese/Chinese and presumably protection against pollution.

In the context of a mild joke, Julian.

In Japan (prior to coronavirus) the people wearing face masks were doing so to protect the rest of us from their germs. I.e. you wore a mask if you had a cold.

Many Japanese are allergic to pollen from Japanese cedars, and face masks are worn to help this, during the Spring pollen season.

In Singapore I understand that if one person coughs then the whole family is put into self-isolation.  There is a lot of temperature taking and form filling to say where you have been as well.
