Recommendations for solicitors to draft a new will?

Can anyone recommend a local solicitor who could help me with this?  Hopefully someone not too expensive, but who can also advise clients as to the best course of action in a given  set of circumstances, rather than simply following instructions. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I've found this thread and Gervase sounds the solution!One query, has anyone executed (correct term?!) on a will or probate detailed by GH?

Gervase has, approximately, a waiting list of 4 weeks before he can talk with you. Or at least, that's what he told us.

Whilst you are at it - for many people it is is sensible to put in place (i.e. register) a lasting power of attorney (LPA). These come in two types; Property and Financial Affairs and Health and Welfare.Your solicitor will be able to assist you with this but other specialists offer the same service.Consider also helping elderly relatives, children and grand children at least set up a Health and Welfare LPA. It will cost you a few hundred pounds to prepare and register the documents but in my view it is money well spent. It gives peace of mind and the consequences of not doing so can be dire.
