Some of the toys donated during the appeal

Ealing-based Westside Radio has delivered hundreds of toys to children and young people across West London as part of its annual Christmas Toy Appeal, bringing festive cheer to families who may otherwise have gone without.
This year’s appeal supported a wide network of hospitals, youth centres and charities, with gifts delivered to Hillingdon Hospital, West Middlesex Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital, Shooting Star Hospice, Southall Park Play Centre, Hanwell Children’s Centre, Carers Trust Hillingdon & Ealing, the William Hobbayne Charity, and several other local organisations.
The station said it received an overwhelming response from listeners and supporters, enabling volunteers to distribute toys to children facing difficult circumstances during the festive period.
The appeal was made possible through the generosity of Westside Radio’s audience and the backing of partners including Hasbro, Ealing Street Dance Academy, Cake Co, A2 Dominion, Fresh N Funky Catering and the Ealing Half Marathon, along with a particularly generous contribution from Chiswick School.
Olivia Jackson, presenter of Westside’s Get Up Show, said taking part in the deliveries was a powerful experience. “Helping to bring real joy and comfort during what can be a very difficult time of year was incredibly special, and seeing the children’s reactions truly highlighted just how meaningful the appeal was,” she said.
Westside Radio thanked all partners, supporters and listeners for helping make this year’s Toy Appeal a success, ensuring children across the area received gifts and support at a time when many families are under increasing pressure.
