Antiques, Interiors and Fine Art Sale taking place this month
High Road Auctions of Chiswick, is poised to offer an enticing selection of fine paintings and works of art as part of its Antiques, Interiors and Fine Art Sale on Tuesday 31st May.
The pieces, many of which are fresh to market, include an impressive large oil by George Knight - ‘Schooning in the Medway’ circa 1875, a recently re-discovered work by Ignace Spiridon – ‘The Opera Singer’ - and an evocative 19th century Venetian scene by Jane Vivian.
Contemporary artists are also well represented in the sale well and include Ken Howard, Pam Masco and Henry Moore, alongside works from the collection of Sir Peter Blake. Other artists of note are: William Lee Hankey, Augustus John, Lucien Pissarro, Constantin Terechnovitch and Edwin Hayes.
The sale also includes:
• a selection of 18th and 19th century bronzes
• a private collection of miniatures– of particular interest is an early depiction of a Mongolfier Brothers’ balloon flight
• ceramics, including a range of 18th and 19th century Chinese pieces
• a collection of silver and silver mounted items
• studio pottery, including pieces by Moorcroft
• plus many other intriguing items
Viewing opens from 10am on Saturday 28th May at the Chiswick High Road showroom, and will be available from 10am until 6pm on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday before the sale begins at 6pm on Tuesday 31st May.
