Chiswick Pets Aims to Continue Trading from Garage

Grooming and boarding services to remain after shop closure

The planned new location for Chiswick Pets grooming services

January 11, 2025

The owners of Chiswick Pets, which closed this Christmas Eve, are planning to keep parts of the business running from a garage at the rear of their home.

Having been one of the areas longest standing independent businesses with a shop on Devonshire Road for over three decades, they blamed customers sticking with the habit of online ordering acquired during the pandemic.

However, the popular grooming service could continue if permission is given by Hounslow Council for a change of use (P/2025/0046) at a double garage at the rear of their property at 36 Ellesmere Road which is just off the A4 Great West Road. It can be accessed by customers via Barrowgate Road and Garth Road. The plan is to also offer boarding services.

A new side door, (previously a window) will be added for clients and new French style doors facing the main house for the owners.

Currently the single storey garage is used for storage and no changes are planned to the size of the structure. Work has already begun on the conversion as originally the owners were unaware of the requirement to get permission for a change of use.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
