Choosing the right school is a big decision. You want somewhere your child will be known, supported and stretched, where they can grow in confidence as well as ability. At Orchard House School in Chiswick, that balance sits at the heart of everything we do.

For children aged 3 to 11, Orchard House offers a warm, ambitious education that is both nurturing and forward-thinking. Small class sizes and exceptional pastoral care mean every child is seen as an individual, with talents spotted early, encouraged and celebrated.
That care and ambition are reflected in our latest 11+ results. Our 2026 cohort of 35 pupils received 150 offers and 42 scholarships to leading day and boarding schools across the UK and abroad, spanning Art, Drama, Music, Sport and Academics. Pupils have moved on to schools including Francis Holland School, Ibstock Place School, Lady Eleanor Holles and The Harrodian School.
However, success at Orchard House is about more than results. It is about developing children who are curious, kind and confident, ready not just for senior school, but for life beyond.
Our approach has also been recognised through a series of recent awards. This year, Orchard House has been re-awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award with Distinction and received a Pearson Teaching Awards Silver Winner title, recognising excellence in teaching. We were also Commended for Independent Prep School of the Year in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.
A big part of the Orchard House experience is our bespoke curriculum: The Learning Orchard. Created from the ground up, it brings together powerful knowledge, rich skills and meaningful connections across subjects. Children learn not just facts, but how to think like historians, scientists and problem-solvers.
In our Innovation Hub, STEM comes to life through hands-on challenges and real-world problems, while the Art Studio gives creativity space to flourish. Philosophy and oracy sessions help children articulate their ideas, listen carefully and explore different perspectives.
Reading sits at the centre of school life too. Through our Reading Explorer (Y1-Y2) and Reading Scholar (Y3-Y6) programmes, children discover great literature, build independence and develop a genuine love of books.
The Learning Orchard brings together knowledge and skills, creativity and rigour, challenge and care — with every element designed to help children understand not just what they are learning, but why it matters.
Alongside the curriculum, school life is full and varied, with clubs, performances, trips and sporting opportunities. Wraparound care, from 7:30am to 6pm, supports busy families while giving children a rich and enjoyable school day.
Orchard House is often described as a “close-knit school with big opportunities.” It is a place where children feel at home, where we grow potential and gently encourage every child to aim high.
