Choosing the right school is a big decision. You want somewhere your child will be known, supported and stretched, where they can grow in confidence as well as ability. At Orchard House School in Chiswick, that balance sits at the heart of everything we do.

For children aged 3 to 11, Orchard House offers a warm, ambitious education that is both nurturing and forward-thinking. Small class sizes and exceptional pastoral care mean every child is seen as an individual. Talents are spotted early, encouraged thoughtfully, and celebrated often.

That care and ambition are reflected in our latest 11+ results. Our 2026 cohort of 35 pupils received an exceptional 150 offers and 42 scholarships to 27 leading day and boarding schools across the UK, with scholarships spanning Art, Drama, Music, Sport and Academics. Pupils will move on to schools including Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, Ibstock Place School, Lady Eleanor Holles, and The Harrodian School, to name a few.

These outcomes are impressive, but they are not the whole story. At Orchard House, success is never just about results. It is about developing children who are curious, kind and confident in themselves, ready not just for senior school, but for life beyond.

A big part of that journey is our bespoke curriculum: The Learning Orchard.

Created from the ground up, The Learning Orchard brings together powerful knowledge, rich skills and meaningful connections across subjects. Children do not simply learn facts but learn how to think like historians, scientists and problem-solvers. Lessons are purposeful and connected, helping pupils understand not just what they are learning, but why it matters.

In our Innovation Hub, STEM comes to life through hands-on challenges, from designing sustainable solutions to tackling real-world problems. In the Art Studio, creativity is given space to flourish. Across the school, philosophy and oracy sessions help children articulate their ideas clearly, listen with care and explore different perspectives with confidence.

Reading sits at the centre of school life too. Through our Reading Explorer (Y1-Y2) and Reading Scholar (Y3-Y6) programmes, children discover great literature, build independence and develop a genuine love of books, often shared with families at home.

What makes The Learning Orchard distinctive is its balance: a thoughtful blend of knowledge and skills, creativity and rigour, challenge and care, where everything has a purpose, and everything connects.

Alongside the curriculum, school life is full and varied. A wide range of clubs, performances, trips and sporting opportunities ensures every child discovers their passion. Wraparound care, from 7:30am to 6pm, supports busy families while giving children a rich and enjoyable school day.

Orchard House is often described as a “close-knit school with big opportunities.” It is a place where children feel at home, where we grow potential and gently encourage every child to aim high. Where kindness sits alongside ambition. Where effort builds confidence, and confidence leads to achievement.

If you would like to see this in action, you are warmly invited to our next Open Morning.
