A new concept in theatre stagecraft comes to West London
Mudstage is a a new programme set up by two West London-based theatre professionals, for children ages 8-16 who wish to gain self-confidence, a strong speaking voice and physical presence.
The company was set up by Hana Jarrah from Chiswick, and Rhianna Moritz, both of whom have extensive experience in stage, acting and theatre techniques.
Having worked as drama workshop facilitators and teachers, they decided to combine their expertise into Mudstage.
There are two age categories; Juniors: 8-11 years and Seniors: 12-16 years.
Hana, (pictured above) who has a First Class Degree in Drama from Manchester University, has written and performed at the Edinburgh Festival as well as the OSO in Barnes. Her interest in drama was inspired during her time at Latymer Upper School, where she appeared in the lead role in many school productions. She is a founding member of the OSO Panto Players and has worked in partnership with the OSO since she was a young teen.
Hana says: "We recently conducted one-off drama workshops for Young Creators UK which focused on devising, story-telling, and playmaking.
"Our plan is to develop these workshops and make them more regular, and we have partnered with OSO in Barnes to give children an insight into professional theatre-making.'
Rhianna (above), trained at Drama Centre London and Almeida Young Company. She privately coaches young people ages 6-21 in LAMDA examinations and specialises in speaking skills and physical presence.
This is an opportunity to learn Mudstage stagecraft with professional actors in an environment which is playful, supportive and imaginative.
They also teach LAMDA exams and qualifications.
The Mudstage term starts on January 19th, and you can sign up by emailing mudstage@gmail.com with your name, and contact details.
