Activity Picking up in Local Home Market
One property a day changing hands during April
The misery of the last few months when transaction levels on the Chiswick property market hit the lowest numbers since records began seems to be coming to an end.
After a brisker March, April seems to have seen a further pick up in volume. With 30 properties having changed hands agents can take some solace that turnover is back up towards one property a day. This is still well below historic levels and further consolidation in the sector appears likely.
The upturn in volume appears to have been accompanied by a decline in the average price. In the months which saw low volume there was a disproportionate number of top end properties selling. This distorted the average. Now with more properties selling the average has fallen to £472,234.
