Sharing their sales successes with the NHS to show their appreciation of them
The team at Whitman and Co made a pledge back in spring last year to donate 2% of all property sale commissions to the NHS Charities Together for a period of 6 months to show our huge appreciation for the NHS's hard work and efforts in extremely difficult circumstances and we are delighted to be writing the first cheque for a sum of £10,000 to the charity.
Director, Chris Chalmers commented ‘It has been an incredibly tough year for so many people and the NHS have been there throughout. We have clapped them, painted rainbows for them and continue to be amazed by their resilience and determination to get us through this pandemic. As estate agents, we have been lucky to remain open for business since the end of the first lockdown and have had a number of record months due to the pent-up demand and many people taking the opportunity to upgrade their main home or move out to the country. We sold over 110 properties last year despite a near 3-month hiatus which was 22% of all sales in Chiswick! To be able to share some of that success with the NHS Charities is the very least we could do.'
As a team we would like to say a huge thank you to the whole community. We are aware of so many individuals and groups who have done so much from the fabulous teachers, to those coordinating foodbanks, to neighbour WhatsApp groups keeping spirits up and our local traders who have had to adapt and innovate. The community spirit in Chiswick is phenomenal and it's a privilege being a part of it.
Since the start of the year, we have already seen a number of sales successfully exchange with a number of properties going under offer. With the imminent stamp duty change on 31 st March we're racing a number of transactions through but also seeing a number of new buyers and sellers entering the market to move this year. If this year is anything like the last 12 months we're in for a busy time. With our office covering sales, lettings and commercial property, we have all the bases covered. If you want to speak with a member of our experienced team, we'd love to hear from you.
Stay safe and well.
The Whitman and Co family.
