A new all-day restaurant and wine room is preparing to open on Chiswick High Road later this month, taking over the former home of The Silver Birch at 142 Chiswick High Road. The hospitality press reports that the venture, called Brook and Green, is being launched later this month by restaurateur Tim Price, who also owned The Silver Birch before its closure in March.

We have been unable to confirm details with Mr Price but contractors have been working inside the unit this week. Industry sources suggest the new venue will span three levels, with 49 covers on the ground floor in the former dining room, 14 seats on an outdoor terrace, and a newly developed 26-cover wine room downstairs. The concept is described as an all-day restaurant serving dishes influenced by Mediterranean, Asian and British cooking, supported by a wine list built around the restaurant’s own working wine collection.

Mr Price is quoted in trade coverage as saying the aim is to create a place that becomes part of Chiswick’s weekly rhythm rather than a destination reserved for special occasions. “This isn’t about building a name around one person or one kitchen – it’s about building a restaurant Chiswick will use every week, for years,” he said. “That’s a different discipline to running a destination restaurant, and it’s exactly what we set out to do here.”

No new licence is expected to be required for Brook and Green, as the existing premises licence is held by TJLD Ltd, a company of which Mr Price is a director.

The Silver Birch closed earlier this year after a run of strong reviews and industry accolades. Under head chef Nathan Cornwall, it was tipped as a potential Michelin star contender and drew diners from across London for its modern British tasting menus. In 2024 it was named London’s Restaurant of the Year at the AA Hospitality Awards. Tim Price had originally helped establish the restaurant in 2020 with chef Kimberley Hernandez.
