Some of the secrets of the recipes for the pizza served at Chiswick’s Napoli on the Road could be revealed in a new cook book.

Michele Pascarella, who opened the restaurant on Devonshire Road in 2019, will be publishing ‘Napoli on the Road: Classic & Seasonal Recipes for Neapolitan-Style Pizza Plus Antipasti, Desserts & Drinks’ this March.

It will feature 65 recipes organised by season alongside his stories of growing up in Naples. Napoli on the Road was the winner of the 2024 Best Pizzeria in Europe after being named Best Pizza Maker of the Year at the Ferrarelle World 50 Top Pizza Europa Awards the year before.

Michele said, “It’s not just about creating the perfect dough or finding the finest ingredients.

“I’ve always believed that pizza is a way to connect people and bring them together. This book is my love letter to Naples. I want people to feel the heart of Italy and my journey through every recipe.”.

Michele has been making pizzas since he was 11 helping out in his parents’ restaurant in Caserta and started his own business driving around in a three-wheel Ape Piaggio truck complete with a wood-fired oven, making pizzas at markets across London. He changes his menu almost entirely every three months, to make use of seasonal ingredients and work with local suppliers.
