Use of Hogarth club gym helps Ollie Cooper to face tough race conditions
Ollie Cooper is a 17 year old member at The Hogarth Health Club in Chiswick. He races 29er high performance skiffs competitively in both national and international races including the Youth Sailing World Championships.
He has been very busy training extremely hard over the past 18 months and in December last year, went to Argentina for the 29er Worlds.
At Easter he competed in France at a Eurocup event and has also recently sailed in the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Youth Nationals. All events went well and have led to Ollie being reselected for the 29er RYA Summer Youth Squad. In between studying for his AS levels, training and competing he has found time to work hard on his fitness with the very useful help from Paul in the Hogarth gym.
His membership has been extremely useful and his fitness has really improved. This helped considerably in Argentina where the conditions were very tough and much stamina was required to finish each day. Ollie plans to continue focusing on his personal training sessions in advance of a busy summer season of events ahead.
The forthcoming summer schedule includes the German 29er Nationals, the Swiss 29er Nationals, The UK 29er Nationals and possibly the RS200 Nationals, in which Ollie and his crew get to compete against their coaches, just for fun!
