Mayoral candidate helps young people to prepare their lunches

The Conservative candidate for the London Mayoral election visited the Hogarth Youth Centre in Chiswick this week.
Shaun Bailey came to lend his support to centre this Wednesday (7 April) spending over an hour engaging with the many young people attending the Easter Holiday Programme.
Leader of the centre’s Youth Team, Denny Anthony, commented, “As an ex-youth worker, Shaun clearly has the heartbeat of young people and recognises the importance of youth work and vibrant youth centres.”
Mr Bailey was shown around the Centre and then helped the young people to prepare their lunch.
With the support of Hounslow Council, the Hogarth Youth Centre is ensuring that every young person attending the programme enjoys a hot lunch during the holiday programme.
Mr Bailey wants to open a new youth zone in every borough to help young people and fight knife crime. He says his plan, which would also see 4,000 new youth workers recruited, could help combat what he describes as the ‘worst aspects of youth culture’.
The Hogarth Charitable Trust's 2021 Youth Programme led by youth officer, Denny Anthony, provides activities (sports, arts, etc.), support and guidance, and the opportunity to cultivate healthy friendships in a safe environment.
