A concert featuring the music of Johannes Brahms
A concert featuring Brahms “Ein Deutsches Requiem” will take place on Saturday 23 March at 7:30 p.m at St James’s Church Piccadilly
Johannes Brahms was a great musical historian, collecting and editing music by many of his famous predecessors.
In this concert, his monumental Requiem is preceded by a series of motets and songs by composers known to Brahms and which illuminated his influences of his own masterful work. The programme therefore includes work by Heinrich Schutz, JS Bach, Fanny Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann.
