Simon and Sarah Reilly accept London Pub Theatre of the Year Award
October 27, 2025
The Tabard Theatre in Chiswick has been named London Pub Theatre of the Year 2025, receiving the top accolade at the annual London Pub Theatre Awards & Standing Ovation Awards held at the Cockpit Theatre. The venue also secured two additional awards for its productions of The Mikado and The Snow Queen, marking a significant moment for the venue.
The award for The Mikado recognised innovation in staging and interpretation, while The Snow Queen, performed last Christmas, was honoured for outstanding production values. Both productions were praised for their creative execution and artistic quality.
The Tabard Theatre has built a reputation as a local hub for accessible and high-quality theatre. The judging panel cited its programming, community engagement, and artistic leadership as key factors in its selection for Pub Theatre of the Year.
Artistic Director Simon Reilly described the recognition as “an honour,” attributing the success to the dedication of the theatre’s artists, staff, and audiences. Executive Director and Creative Producer Sarah Reilly also acknowledged the role of the awards in supporting smaller venues and independent productions.
The production teams behind both winning shows included a range of creatives, from directors and designers to musical and puppet specialists. The team behind The Snow Queen has been reassembled for the Tabard’s upcoming production of The Railway Children, which opens on 5 December.
The awards will be displayed at the theatre’s front of house, with celebrations planned involving the local community and theatre partners.
