The next in a series of afternoon concerts at St. Nicholas Church sees the return of Samantha Rowe and Jonathan Musgrave.
Almost a year to the day from their last visit Ms Rowe, the flautist and soprano, will again be accompanied on piano by Mr Musgrave.
The concert takes place at 3pm on Sunday 18 May.

Samantha Rowe grew up on a Cornish dairy farm and moved to London in 2019, where she graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and with a First-Class Honours in 2023.
As a soprano she has performed extensively in London and the South West, and overseas in Italy, France and Holland. Notable performances include the UK premiere of Dan Forrest’s Creation; featuring at the ‘Music and A.I’ Annual Conference alongside Rowland Sutherland; and performing as flute and soprano soloist in Birmingham Symphony Hall. Roles to-date include Suzanna (Marriage of Figaro, Mozart), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice, Gluck), and extracts of Handel’s Messiah. Orchestrally, Samantha has appeared with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Scarborough Spa Orchestra and Endellion Festival Orchestra, as well as regularly delivering solo and chamber recitals around the UK, including a recent concerto with the Plymouth Symphony Orchestra.
Competition successes include Liverpool Flute Academy‘s Orchestral Artistry Award (first place). Samantha is passionate about delivering outreach in schools and care homes, and she is also an enthusiastic music teacher and charity concert organiser. This year Samantha is generously supported in her studies by The Radford Charitable Trust, the Lord Lieutenants ‘Young and Talented Cornwall’, The Charlotte Fraser Foundation, The Kathleen Trust and she is also an RCM Award Holder.
Jonathan Musgrave studied at the Royal College of Music, gaining top-class undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and supplemented these with a Junior Fellowship. In a solo role he has performed concertos by Howells and Brahms. As a chamber musician he has worked with instruments and voices of every kind, and his duo partnerships have resulted in engagements from the Kirckman Concert Society and Park Lane Group, leading to critical acclaim from the Times and the Independent. As well as innumerable appearances in London (venues including the Purcell Room, Cadogan Hall and Wigmore Hall), he has travelled around the UK, and has also performed on BBC Radio 3.
Tickets cost £10 or £5 for students and you can stay afterwards for tea and cake for an extra £5. All payments by cash or card on the door.
