Grow Chiswick Aiming for Feel of a Country Fair
Autumn Show unveils new layout including marquee and farm shop

Grow Chiswick has unveiled details of its forthcoming Autumn Show, promising the charm of a traditional small country fair with the creativity and community spirit that have long defined the event.
Taking place on Sunday 13 September at the Trading Centre on Staveley Road, the Show will debut a new layout this year. A newly installed marquee and a revamped building — now styled as a farm shop — will create a warm, village-fair setting for exhibitors and visitors alike. The Autumn Show has always been a friendly competition open to all ages, welcoming entries from gardens, allotments, balconies and windowsills across Chiswick. This year’s format aims to make the experience even more inviting.
Visitors can expect the familiar mix of flowers, fruit, vegetables, preserves, baking and art, all judged by an RHS judge. Staging of entries takes place from 8:30am to 11:30am, followed by judging until 1:30pm. The grounds will come alive at midday with a BBQ, traditional teas, homemade cakes and drinks, drawing in families and neighbours for an afternoon of relaxed celebration.
Prize giving will be at 3:00pm, presented by Mark Wasilewski LVO, Park Manager at the Royal Parks. Mr. Wasilewski is also set to return next spring as the principal panellist for Grow Chiswick’s Gardeners’ Question Time on 18 April, adding extra anticipation to this year’s ceremony.
The day concludes with the ever-popular auction at 3:30pm, where produce and exhibits are sold off in lively fashion, raising funds for the Chiswick Horticultural & Allotments Society, a registered charity.
