Open air opera returns to the grounds in aid of restoration project
Chiswick House Friends, together with Fullers Brewery and the London Borough of Hounslow, bring you The Garden Opera Company’s production of Puccini’s ‘La Boheme’, in Chiswick House Gardens, on the evening of Thursday June 28th. It is the story of two star-crossed lovers with some of Puccini’s most beautiful music sung in Amanda Holden’s English translation.
Directed by Martin Lloyd-Evans the action takes place on a 1940’s Parisien set created by Neil Irish with costumes designed by Dulcie Best. Garden Opera’s singers and chamber musicians promise to take you on a journey of romance, joie de vivre and heartbreak!
The performance will take place on the North (rear) lawns of the House and will start at 7.30 p.m. All are welcome to bring picnics to enjoy prior to the performance and during the 45 minute interval.
This is the third annual opera organised by Chiswick House Friends in the grounds of Chiswick House: proceeds from the sale of tickets will go to the Restoration project of the House and Grounds.
Tickets are priced £25 and those interested in applying for tickets who are not yet ‘Friends’ should write to: Opera, Chiswick House Friends, 56 Park Road, W4 3HH.
