Restoration of Chiswick house almost completed

Today (October 26th )marks the anniversary of the death in 1764 of the artist and philanthropist William Hogarth, and sees a flurry of activity at Hogarth’s House as it prepares to open after a three year restoration project.

Thanks to the support of the London Borough of Hounslow, the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Hogarth Trust, and the John & Ruth Howard Trust, the home of Chiswick’s favourite son is set to reopen on Tuesday November 8th , and will remain free to the public.

Visitors will be able to see new display panels describing its fascinating history and the characters who lived there and their place in Chiswick society.

Hogarth’s House, Hogarth Lane, Great West Road, London W4 2QN will be open to the public from November 8th, Admission free. The House will be open from 12-5pm Tuesday to Sunday, closed Mondays, except for Bank Holiday Mondays.
