A previous panel discusses youth in the borough
February 11, 2026
Residents are being invited to take part in a community discussion aimed at supporting and empowering young people ahead of the May local elections. The event, titled “Make Youth a Priority,” will take place on Wednesday 25 February from 5 to 6.30pm at Chiswick School.
With elections approaching, organisers say this is a crucial moment for local people to speak up about the issues affecting children and young people in their neighbourhoods. Topics are expected to range from education and mental health to safety, opportunities and future careers, reflecting the wide set of challenges and ambitions shaping young lives in the borough.
Local party leaders will attend to outline their plans for supporting young people if elected and to hear directly from the community. Residents will be able to ask questions, share experiences and help influence how youth issues are reflected in local policies and manifestos. The session will be hosted by student representatives from local schools, including Chiswick School, ensuring that young voices remain at the heart of the conversation.
“This event is about bringing the Hounslow community together to stand up for its young people,” a Reach Foundation spokesperson said. “We want families, students and residents to feel confident that their voices matter and that local leaders are listening.”
The event will take place at Chiswick School on Burlington Lane (W4 3UN), with refreshments available from 4.30pm. It is open to students, parents, carers, educators and other members of the community.
Parents, carers, young people and residents are warmly encouraged to attend and take part in what organisers describe as a vital discussion. The event offers a valuable opportunity for the community to come together, be heard and help shape a brighter future for the next generation.
