Sarah's Making A World of Difference With Microloan

And is looking for volunteers with spare change for Pennies for Life Campaign

Chiswick's Sarah Parfitt has been given the opportunity to make a world of difference from Vodaphone. Sarah is being paid by the mobile phone company to work for a UK-based charity of her choice for two months.

She chose The Microloan Foundation.

"What a fabulous start to 2011!" said Sarah. "I feel incredibly lucky to be able to work for the Microloan Foundation and hope I can really make a difference! For me, this is about utilising my skills to help empower women in poverty-stricken, rural communities.

"I have just done my first day of work at the Microloan Foundation and my mind is spinning with ideas. I am going to be helping the organisation with their “Pennies for Life” campaign, which is very exciting. We are hoping to collect more than four million pennies and then try to get into the Guinness World Records Book for the longest line of pennies.

"It’s all going to take place at the Chiswick Community School on the 9th and 10th July and we need your support! We will need more than 1,000 volunteers over the two days! Can you help? Yes? Then, please do get in touch: sarah.parfitt@microloanfoundation.org.uk

Last but not least, on a very practical note, Microloan is looking for a business to donate hundreds of metres of sticky tape so that they can line our pennies up with relative ease in July.

Chiswick based charity MicroLoan Foundation came up with the innovative campaign Pennies for Life which focuses on a push for social change with your spare change. http://www.microloanfoundation.org.uk/How-you-can-help/PenniesForLife
