Turnham Green Terrace Redevelopment
Gable House Development opposed By Planning Committee
Local residents who opposed proposals to develop Gable House won the support of the Chiswick Area Committee last week, when they voted to oppose the most recent planning application.
Gable House, situated on Turnham Green Terrace, is home to Oliver Bonas and Masion Blanc amongst others on its street level with offices on the four storeys above.
This, the fourth such application for renovating Gable House, was rejected on the grounds that additional residential properties would add to existing parking pressures and that the new design would not enhance the building, compounding a problem for a structure already considered unattractive. CAC Members also opposed the cladding and the additional floor.
Further concerns
were raised over the change of building use and loss of employment. Over
development i.e. loss of visual amenity, light and privacy to local residents
was also cited as well as the fact that such a development would contradict
        Hounslow’s Unitary Development Policy.
