Chiswick-based Declan Donnelly and his former neighbour Ant McPartlin took time to visit families supported by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices earlier this month.
The Shooting Star team gave the duo a Makaton performance of their hit ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rumble’, followed by a surprise birthday cake to celebrate their 50th birthdays later in the year and commemorate the 20th anniversary of the opening of Shooting Star House.
Ant and Dec spent time with families at the centre in Hampton on Thursday 13 March, talking to them and creating precious lasting memories. Before leaving, they were presented with two special pieces of art created by some of the children supported by the charity.
The celebrity pair said of their visit to Shooting Star, “We had the most wonderful time meeting children and their families, along with the Shooting Star team who do such incredible work. It was an honour to be invited and commemorate the 20th anniversary of the exceptional Shooting Star House in Hampton.”
Karen Sugarman MBE, Executive Vice-President at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, commented, “We were so thrilled to welcome Ant and Dec to Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. They were so generous with their time, chatting to children and families. They brought sunshine to a day that we will always remember and cherish; we are truly grateful to them for taking the time to be with us.”
