Rated fifth worst in London for internet speed
A Chiswick road has the fifth slowest broadband download speed according to a survey by a broadband comparison web site.
Top10.com's broadband speed test enables consumers to test their home broadband speed and then see the speed of others on their street via their Broadband StreetStats service. It showed that Burlington Road was slower than all but four of the roads measured.
The street with the slowest connection was Cookham Crescent in Lewisham.
In the past 12 months, more than 150,000 speed tests have been carried out in London, creating a detailed map of the average broadband speeds across the capital. The figures reveal that even neighbouring boroughs can have huge disparities in average broadband speeds. For example, Hammersmith & Fulham is the slowest borough in west London with average speeds of 7.32Mb, compared to Ealing where average speeds are almost 40% faster at 10.18Mb.
