94 Bus Terminus Back On Council Agenda

Consultation planned before any changes are made

The possible changes to the 94 bus terminus will be discussed at this week's Ealing Council Cabinet meeting.

The Council has spoken with residents, the bus company, Transport for London and Southfield Ward Councillors.

Cllr Gary Malcolm has summarised these below:

• Retention of the 94 bus frequency
• Altering the location of the terminus so the parking arrangements are different but it still remains in the area outside Le Vacherin restaurant.
• Most of the buses will be ‘hybrid’ buses which are apparently up to 60% less noisy and so should solve many of the noise issues for local residents.
• A consultation with residents before any changes are made
• Enforcement to ensure the bus company follow the rules in terms of stopping too many buses blocking up the terminus
• Review a number of months after any changes so that the Council can see the changes have helped improve things.

Cllr Malcolm said, “We have fought very hard over the past year or so to protect the frequency whilst trying to find a way with the Council to reduce the noise that some local residents near to the terminus do suffer.
