Lengthy traffic delays on the A4 after the rush hour collision
A man was taken to hospital with serious back injuries following a collision near the Hogarth Roundabout this morning.
London Ambulance and police were called after reports of a collision just before 7 am.
A line of traffic backed up to six miles along the A4 eastwards between junction 3 and the roundabout following the accident.
Traffic delays continued for some hours along the A4 as far as the Hammersmith flyover.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 7:13am to Burlington Lane, W4 to reports of a road traffic collision.
"We sent a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew to the scene.
"We treated a man at the scene for back pain and took him as a priority to a major trauma centre at St Mary's Hospital, W2."
