Renew their ambition to transform the area with landmark mural on both sides
An impression of what the mural will look like
Abundance London is working on an ambitious project to transform the area under the railway bridges along Turnham Green Terrace, outside the tube station.
This area has been an eyesore for many years. Abundance London first proposed
this project several years ago, and now has permission from TfL to create
a lovely mural here. Over 27 metres long, 2.5m high, this will be a landmark
piece of public art.
There will be a tiled timeline of historic maps showing the development
of Chiswick through the centuries, with works of art depicting local landmarks
by some of the amazing artists who live and work in our area.
Further details, along with information about how everyone can get involved, will be released very soon. Sign up for Abundance’s mailing list if you want to be kept informed of new developments on their website
Chiswick councillors, through the Chiswick Area Forum, helped Abundance get £39,000 funding from Hounslow Council for the project. Southfield Liberal Democrats have given their backing with some funding. Contributions have also been made from Transport for London.
Karen Liebreich, co-ordinator of Abundance, said: "We are delighted that the Southfield Ward panel has decided to support our Turnham Green Bridges project. "
