Policing Update for May
Syon and Brentford Safer Neighbourhood Teams are continuing to work hard to deliver a quality service to our local community.
Burglary and theft from motor vehicles remains at the top of our ward priorities. We still have reports of thefts of number plates from different locations, so we advice all car owners to fix their number plates with security screws which it is difficult for thieves to unscrew.
We would also like to warn all residents who live on Brentford and Syon wards to be vigilant as we have recently received many calls regarding a white male knocking on doors with a different story (usually he says, his wife is in the Hospital and he needs the money to get there…etc). The male managed to get money from some residents; we encourage all residents to call police on 101, or your Safer Neighbourhood Teams to report him.
Also we have received other reports of a white male aged mid 40s knocking on doors looking for work or to offer assistance with tree pruning, in some cases there were no trees in front of the house, but the male asked if there was any trees at the back of the house. That male could have been checking out properties and maybe he was up to no good so be vigilant.
We have executed several drug warrants at different addresses in the area and arrests have been made.
In operation CUBO, Syon & Brentford SNT, together with Chiswick Deployment Team and Isleworth & Osterley SNT, have taken part in a joint operation to stop and check vehicles and drivers for licence and insurance offences. Several vehicles have been seized.
Syon and Brentford Safer Neighbourhood Teams are working for and with the local community and we are always happy to listen to any comments or concerns from our local residents and we will continue to work hard to make our local area a safer place.
