Activities at The Mulberry Centre
October 9, 2025
Northumberland Estates has awarded a £15,000 grant to The Mulberry Centre, a cancer support charity based at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. The funding will help sustain the centre’s specialist counselling programme, which provides emotional and psychological support to individuals affected by cancer, including patients, carers, and family members.
The Mulberry Centre offers a range of free services, including one-to-one counselling, complementary therapies, support groups, and wellbeing workshops. Its counselling provision is a core part of its work, designed to help people navigate the emotional challenges that often accompany a cancer diagnosis.
The donation builds on an existing relationship between Northumberland Estates and the charity. Staff at Syon Park, a historic estate owned by Northumberland Estates and located nearby, selected The Mulberry Centre as their Charity of the Year. The grant reflects the organisation’s broader commitment to supporting local wellbeing initiatives.
A spokesperson for Northumberland Estates said the company was proud to contribute to a service that “can make an immeasurable difference to those navigating the challenges of cancer.”
The Mulberry Centre’s Chief Executive, Raj Athwal, welcomed the support, noting that the funding would help the centre continue offering professional counselling to those who need it most.
The Mulberry Centre provides many different ways of supporting the charity, either as a volunteer or fundraiser.
