Pasta Evangelists Look to Expand Dark Kitchen in Brentford

An application has been submitted by Pasta Evangelists for a licence to operate a delivery only service from a base in Brentford.
The company, which specialises in the home delivery of fresh pasta, wants permission to serve food from 27 Ealing Road from 10am to 2am each day.
The operation is a so-called ‘dark kitchen’ which would not allow customers to pick up from the address but would only facilitate orders from apps such as Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
Pasta Evangelists appears to already be operating from the premises, which were formerly occupied by the Real Dragon Chinese takeaway, and received a 5-star hygiene rating from council inspectors last year.
The address is also being currently used by another delivery only food business Wraps and Wings, Wicked & Eggs Quisite which serves breakfast and brunch.
In its application Pasta Evangelist states that it will provide a telephone number for the premises and/or a member of the management team should residents wish to raise any concerns.
It adds that it will encourage all its delivery riders to use their vehicles in a responsible manner so as not to cause a nuisance to any residents or generally gather outside the premises and obstruct the highway.
Pasta Evangelists is owned by Italian-based food conglomerate Barilla, which acquired the London-based start-up in 2021.
Any objections to the application need to be received by the borough licensing department at licensing@hounslow.gov.uk by 1 March. Information on how to make an objection is provided by the council on this page.
