A serious fire broke out in garages on The Ridgeway in Acton this Tuesday night (7 September)
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to the scene where four garages in which building materials were stored were ablaze.
The Brigade was called at 11.13pm and the fire was under control by 12.42am. Fire crews from Acton, Chiswick, Ealing, Richmond, Southall and Park Royal fire stations attended the scene.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Sub Officer Robert Poeti, who was at the scene, said, “The fire started outside one of the garages and spread inside. The garages were full of building materials, which fuelled the fire and made access challenging.
“Crews worked incredibly hard to bring the fire under control.
“Residents in surrounding houses were asked to keep their windows and doors closed due to smoke in the area.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
