Blue Mercedes failed to stop at the scene
Victim's condition is critical but stable
An 82-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car on Gunnersbury Lane.
The collision occurred on Wednesday, 5 January shortly before 3.30pm.
The car, a blue coloured Mercedes A Class, did not stop at the scene. The victim was taken to hospital and the latest update is that his condition is stable.
A 27-year-old man turned himself in at a west London police station later that same day. He was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a road traffic collision. He was later released on bail.
The vehicle concerned was recovered.
Detective Constable Davina Nash of the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit [SCIU] said: “I am very keen to hear from any drivers who were in the area who may have dash-cam footage of the circumstances surrounding this collision or anyone who witnessed the incident but hasn’t yet spoken with police.
“If you have information that could assist our investigation please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
